CHRISTOPHER A. HAWKINS, M.D.
A team physician for area schools, Dr. Hawkins is a fixture on the sidelines and in the training room. He believes community involvement can lead to better injury prevention and accelerated rehabilitation of athletic injuries.
The son of a career naval officer, Dr. Hawkins has lived all over the country, an experience that helps him understand his patients and maximize their recovery.
Dr. Hawkins is an accomplished swimmer and avid athlete. During his fellowship at the University of Utah, he treated nationally ranked athletes in basketball, football, skiing and gymnastics.
Dr. Hawkins treats all types of athletic injuries, especially knees and shoulders. He is a specialist in shoulder reconstruction, including replacements. He has published research and given presentations to orthopaedic surgeons, health care professionals, athletic trainers and coaches. He is also a member of the national Evaluation Committee for the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
